Assessment
Assessment Records
Records of all pupil progress are regularly updated. Evidence of pupil's work is collected and ongoing assessments, both formal and informal, of individual progress are undertaken.
Type of Assessment
As part of the requirements of the National Curriculum, children are assessed by Standard Assessment Tasks (SATs) twice in their primary years, in Year 2 and Year 6. All children will be supported and encouraged in order to reach their full potential. We use various methods to make these assessments. These include Baseline Assessments in Reception; assessments in all curriculum areas and QCA tests in Years 3, 4 and 5.
Target Setting
Targets are set for each child so that we can assess achievements. We can then challenge and support the children appropriately. Targets are set half termly and are shared with pupils and their parents. Parents can discuss their child's targets with the Class Teacher at Parents' Evenings held three times a year.
